Editing a Quick Snapshot

Let’s start the very first blueprint post with a great close-up snap shot.

Here is the image straight off of camera.

First thing we did was import the photo into Adobe Lightroom and change the camera profile from Adobe Standard to Camera Standard.

Here is the photo after just that one change:

In Lightroom:  

  • Used healing brush to clean up blemishes
  • Increased temperature +448

Here is what the image looked like after those changes:

Then we opened the image up in Photoshop and did the following:  

  • Used patch tool to clean up under-eye circles > faded selection to 50% (under the Edit menu)
  • Used patch tool to clean up a few stray hairs
  • Used Totally Rad Actions (TRA) Pro Retouch at 50% to smooth out skin
  • Used Boutwell’s Magic Glasses (TRA Actions) at 30%

Here is what the image looks like after those steps:

The final step was to give the image a bit of pop. To pop the image we ran Just a Tiny Kick action from Sesame Ellis Actions at 20%.
